Westgate Medical Centre Sayers Road endeavours to provide our patients with the latest treatments, methods, material and equipment to ensure a high standard of quality care is received.

We offer a full range of services from infancy to old age; we are here to enable the continuity of patient care for individuals and families in the Wyndham community.

Enhanced Primary Care Plans, Health Assessments and Health Checks

Westgate Medical Centre offers Enhanced Primary Care Plans (EPCs) for all patients with ongoing medical conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, mental health, chronic pain, and COPD (among others).

The EPC enables patients to access health service providers such as psychologists, physiotherapy, dietitians, diabetes educators. Most providers bulk bill through Medicare, but there may be a GAP fee involved (patients will need to speak to the providers individually to determine out of pocket costs).

Our qualified Clinic Nurses liaise with your Doctor to set up the best EPC for your needs.

If you are between the ages of 45-49 years, over 75, are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, a refugee or have a family history of and are at risk of diabetes you are also eligible for a bulk-billed health check. Our Practice also offers sexual health checks.

Emergency Services

Our Practice welcomes all patients following any accident or emergency situation.

Our fully equipped treatment room is available to manage and tend to those mishaps that can happen. We have the equipment and capabilities for wound closure and suturing, cuts, abrasion and foreign body removal, as well as plaster facilities for broken bones and nebulisers on site for the management of asthma.

Our Practice is fully Accredited to see patients for onsite workplace accidents and TAC for minor vehicle-related injuries.

Pathology

Our on-site pathology services are available:

Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 7pm

Friday 8.30am – 4pm

and Saturdays 9am to 1pm for your convenience.

Appointments are not necessary – bring your referral from your Doctor and take a number at the door. The friendly staff of Australian Clinical Labs will assist you.

Women’s Health, Obstetrics and Shared Care

Our Practice offers pap smears, osteoporosis, contraceptive needs, family planning, breast checks, STI management, post-natal depression, menopause and many more women’s health needs.

We also provide the service of Shared Antenatal Care and liaise directly with Werribee Mercy Hospital, Sunshine Hospital and The Royal Women’s Hospital regarding the support and care of your pregnancy.

Some of our GPs specialise in :

• Mirena Insertion and/or Removals.
• Implanon Insertion/Removals

Speak with one of our reception staff as we can also offer further  information, assistance and support in ongoing referrals, medical procedures, genetic testing, pregnancy education, birthing anxieties and the preparation for birth.

Men’s Health

Our Practice offers family planning, prostate checks, STD checks, depression, mental health care, heart disease and much more.

Minor Injuries and Surgery

With FMIG Radiology and Radiology Imaging Solutions located down the road from our Practice, we are able to manage the treatment of broken bones, major sprains and strains and other conditions requiring radiology without having to send you to hospital for care.

Travel Vaccinations

Planning on travelling overseas? Did you know that most vaccines need at least 14 days to be considered effective?

We offer travel advice and immunisations at our Practice. Book an appointment today with your Doctor as most vaccines can be administered by our Nurses on the same day as your consultation.

Immunisation Catch-Ups/Overseas Immunisation Updates

You must book an appointment with your GP and our practice nurse to update any immunisations.

Pre Employment, Insurance and Medical Reports

Our Practice can conduct all medicals that can be required for insurance, pre-employment, VicRoads and taxi drivers. Book an appointment with your GP to discuss your needs.
